Fees and funding options

For information regarding our fee schedule, please do not hesitate contact us so that we can provide the relevant information for your family’s situation.


Apple Tree Speech Pathology can accept payment from third party sources including schools, kinders and Department of Health and Human Services, etc. Please inform us prior to your child’s first appointment if you have permission to use a third party funding source.


Government and private funding options may be available to subsidise the cost of your child’s therapy. Some of these are listed below. Please contact us or your healthcare provider to your child’s eligibility for these subsidies. 



Medicare Rebates


Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM) - formerly known as Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan


The Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan is a Medicare initiative that is available to children and adults. Your GP will decide if your child is eligible to receive a CDM plan. A CDM plan allows Medicare rebates for up to five sessions of Allied Health therapy, including Speech Pathology, per calendar year.


Helping Children with Autism – assessment services

Item Number: 82005


This item allows eligible allied health professionals, including Speech Pathologists to provide up to four sessions of assessment to assist the referring medical practitioner in making a formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder for children under the age of 13 years. These sessions must be approved for use in writing by a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist.


Helping Children with Autism – therapy services

Item Number: 82020


This item allows eligible allied health professionals, including Speech Pathologists, to provide up to 20 sessions of early intervention treatment to a child diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. These sessions must be approved for use in writing by a Paediatrician. The treating Speech Pathologist provides the paediatrician with a report of the child’s attendance and progress for the first and last of these sessions. To be eligible the child must be under 15 years of age with a diagnosis of Autism that was provided before 13 years of age.

Department of Social Security (DSS) - formerly FaHCSIA


Apple Tree Speech Pathology is a registered provider for Helping Children with Autism services. This funding package is available to children under seven years diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.


This funding package of up to $12,000 can be used to access early intervention services and approved resources. Resources must be approved by the Speech Pathologist. A letter of introduction from AMAZE (formerly Autism Victoria) must be received before this funding can be accessed.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Apple Tree Speech Pathology is a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider. We accept clients who are third party and self-managed. If your child has access to NDIS funding please contact us to discuss this further.

Private health insurance


Some private health insurance companies will cover Speech Pathology services under an extras policy. Please check with your insurer to determine if you are able to access Speech Pathology rebates under your current policy and the level of rebate provided.
